While reading the mysterious information about Slavonic poetry turned into "prosaic prose", I was reminded of Monsieur Jourdain writing "prose", something that VN never did, not even while impersonating Kinbote. (Cf. Molière in "Le Bourgeois gentilhomme" on French aristocracy - or any other ). He always wrote like a poet writes.
I wonder if VN's anthropomorphizations ( wilful objects and landscapes abound in KQK) is not a poet's way to avoid employing analogies through "like a", "similar to","as" ,etc.
