Amazing, the beautiful things one finds while searching for a simple
page reference.
The link below leads to an artwork by Lili Maya called "imagine a
modern taxonomist straddling a wellsian time machine"--a phrase also
known as Nabokov's most famous bit of scientific prose. Maya's
unrelated installation "au concert printemps flottant" is on view
at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris until September 9.
Her Artist's Statement on her web site reads:
"i am working with fragments, with the
edges of things and what they
suggest about systems (psychological or
physical / natural or
constructed) – edges bring the work
closer to gaps where binaries
collapse/blur/integrate/oscillate –
where ambiguity may reveal truth."
