Even with the "heavy-handed jargon" it makes some interesting points, and other films from the 1970s (Pretty Baby, Taxi Driver) through the most recent decade (Bully, Hound Dog) could be similarly analyzed.  What seem to be missing are films in which gender plays a significant role in determining what falls into the "undecidable" area of youth sexuality (unless one would endeavor to assess, for example, made-for-TV fare about Mary Kay LeTourneau or Debra LaFave).
