Among the celebrated authors of the daily have been some of the bright lights of literature and poetry, including Ivan Bunin, Vladimir Nabokov, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, and Joseph Brodsky, to name a few.
America’s oldest Russian language daily, “Novoe Russkoe Slovo” (“New Russian Word”) is considered to be the most popular daily within the Russian population. According to Mayor Bloomberg, it not only gives its readers a full picture of what is going on in the country and overseas, but also enables the Russian language to live on in New York and across America.
Bloomberg said that, since 1910, in its years of service “Novoe Russkoe Slovo” has seen it all: the economic crises, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the reincarnation of the new, powerful Russian state.
