Dear List,
There are two different messages in my present posting  on "VN and vanishing points". So...please, disregard the appended insertion. It is the copy I'd rejected to substitute it by the one you received.

On the theme of coincidences and feeling licked by lapsus linguae and convergences, I just came across a curiosity that had, originally, escaped my atention. Sandy P. Klein (Thu, 4 Sep 2008) subjected his message as "Lump Vladimir Nabokov with his illustrious contemporaries ..."  adding news about an "interviewer once saw fit to lump Vladimir Nabokov with his illustrious contemporaries Jorge Luis Borges and Samuel Beckett"...

In Wed, 1 Oct 2008, after Sandy Klein's post" Nabokov shares with Chekhov a fanatical eye for detail ..." about dandyish-looking Chekhov photographed holding Quinine, his dachshund [...]  I posted a series of photographs about Picasso's dog [ Victor Hugo's grandson had a dachs, called "Lolita" and he once dressed her up to meet Picasso's dachs, "Lump", as a "bride".]
I hadn't realized that the word "lump" had recently appeared in our list...
