ADDISON – An enterprising theater company could make a whole season from the best offerings of this year's Out of the Loop Festival.

Blackbird thematically resembles Vladimir Nabokov's great, inflammatory novel Lolita more than other dramas in its genre. Mr. Harrower doesn't question society's judgment that any such relationship exploits and damages the young person. But Blackbird does insist that there was emotion, even passion, on both sides. The audience still has to sort out the degree of the man's culpability – and that is by no means fully resolved by the end of the play.

It would be terrific if WaterTower could extend the run of the festival's hit dramas, especially Blackbird. They deserve to be seen by more people than can squeeze into the Studio Theatre for the few remaining performances.

• The festival continues through Sun- day at WaterTower Theatre, Addison Theatre Centre, 15650 Addison Road. $10 to $15, festival pass $50. 972-450- 6232, www.watertowertheatre.org.
