A number of authors who write in Nabokov's shadow have
been mention in recent messages. VN's Russian works have not been without
influence in Russian literature as well. The most prominent example in
Andrei Bitov.
Bitov says he had
written most of "Pushkin House" (1964-1970) when he read "The
Gift" and exclaimed "Nabokov has written my novel!" Convergence
may be a more appropriate word than influence.
