A number of authors who write in Nabokov's shadow have been mention in recent messages. VN's Russian works have not been without influence in Russian literature as well.

I notice in a recent Russian publication a review of "Moi svtrechi s Ogastesom K'yunitsem" by Evgenii Laputin (M: Novaya yunost', 1999). The review opens "The prose of Evgenii Laputin is Nabokovian italic extended into the margins." I'm not sure what this means but evidently the reviewer regards EL as a Nabokov acolyte.
