Alexander Drescher: In the currently released film, "Captain Fantastick" an adolescent female gives a 15 second appraisal of "Lo...a", a lovely take on the novel and HH. On the one hand her emotional responses to the lover/on the other the reality of a monster. It serves as well as an unrecognized comment on her father, the central character of the film, and perhaps the film-maker's intention to induce a similar ambivalence in the viewer.

JM: I haven't yet watched the movie Sandy Drescher sent us information about - but there's another curious detail related to it: Vladimir Nabokov's "Lolita" was referenced in the movie by one of the daughters, the 1993 movie version of which Frank Langella played the character "Quilty". Frank Langella played the grandfather in this film. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3553976/trivia (probably just another curious coincidence...)
