Dear List,
In response to Brian's query about Phyllis's Nabokov scholarship, I only know that she moved on to study Bram Stoker and other writers. Since I recommended her 1982 essay, in particular, here's bibliographical information for those unfamiliar with it:
Roth, Phyllis A: "Toward the Man behind the Mystification". In: Nabokov's Fifth Arc (ed. J.E. Rivers, Charles Nicol). Austin, TX: University of Texas Press, 1982, pp. 43-62.
