THOUGHTS: Freemasonry in Speak, Memory

Daniele Fabbri writes:
The radical village schoolmaster Vasily Martynovich Zhernosekov breathed
Revolutionary fire and brimstone over the young Nabokov on country walks
"speaking of humanity and freedom and the badness of warfare and the sad
(but interesting, I thought) necessity of blowing up tyrants" (Nabokov,
Speak, Memory, Chapter 1). In Jane Grayson's "Vladimir Nabokov", there's a
photo of teacher Zhernosekov flaunting a Masonic secret sign. I did a blog
that shows other famous Freemasons (Washington, Marx etc.) doing the same
sign. Check it out: http://goo.gl/ittgt
