In addition to many essays and edited works, Brian Boyd is the author of the award-winning biography of Nabokov (Vladimir Nabokov: The Russian Years and Vladimir Nabokov: The American Years), two award-winning monographs on Nabokov (Nabokov’s Ada: The Place of Consciousness and Nabokov’s Pale Fire: The Magic of Artistic Discovery), and a collection of essays (Stalking Nabokov). Professor Boyd describes the nature and the rules of the contest here:
David M. Rubin's story riffs on "Signs and Symbols" and has its own riddle about the source of key details in Nabokov's famously riddling story. I think it one of the very best of the many homages to Nabokov’s work made in many media, from film and opera to carpets and mock postage-stamps. To encourage readers to read “Symbols, Signs and Saints” with the attention it deserves, I offer a $50 prize to the first person who has not published on Nabokov to find the correct solution to its riddle.
