The final extended deadline for submissions to the Hidden Nabokov Conference at Wellesley College with an excursion to Cambridge, 15-19 June, 2022, is in just two weeks, Nov. 1, 2021.  If you've already submitted an abstract, you don't need to resend it -- but you can replace it with a revised version or a new proposal if you wish. Please note as well that we invite poster presentations and panels.

Spurred by the need to cancel the Morn production, we have arranged for several special components of the in-person conference:

  • Exhibit of artists' books and book arts related to Nabokov
  • Exhibits, tours, and special events related to Nabokov's years at Wellesley, 1941-1948
  • Visit to Harvard's Museum of Comparative Zoology, where Nabokov curated lepidoptera during that time
  • Plenary panel on artists' books, with Nabokov-inspired work by Tatjana Bergelt and Marlene MacCallum, featuring the artists and Ruth Rogers, curator of Special Collections at Wellesley
  • Keynote presentation by Nabokov-inspired writer and artist Shelley Jackson, author of the classic hypertext novel Patchwork Girl as well as stories, novels, the ongoing experimental works Skin and Snow, and many other projects
  • Keynote address by Priscilla Meyer, author of Nabokov and Indeterminacy and Find What the Sailor Has Hidden: Vladimir Nabokov's Pale Fire, co-editor of Nabokov's World, and former editor of "Notes and Brief Commentaries" in The Nabokovian

Please find the Call for Papers with full information here. We look forward to seeing you in Wellesley next summer!
