CALL FOR PAPERS FOR A VOLUME ON
WOMEN IN VLADIMIR NABOKOV
Nabokov's
literary legacy has been studied from different perspectives. Despite the
considerable amount of scholarly papers produced since 1960s, studies on
Nabokov's women are scarce (except those on Lolita).
During the last decade, we have seen some research on female characters in Nabokov.
However, women have played an important role in Nabokov's life and art. With a
publication like this we want to revive the gender debate on Nabokov’s works.
Contributors
are kindly invited to submit their proposals on the following four fields of
the contents of the volume:
1. Women in Nabokov's life (the role
of his mother, Vera Nabokov and his lovers).
2. Nabokov on female writers.
3. Female writers in Nabokov
(intertextual studies).
4. Female voices in Nabokov (female
characters in his poetry, short stories, novels and drama).
Contributors
are welcome to submit their proposals of 500-700 words and a brief bio to Dr.
Nailya Garipova Castellano (nailyagar@hotmail.com) and Dr. Juan José Torres
Núñez (jotorres@ual.es) (University of Almeria, Spain) before September 30,
2014. Acceptance will be notified by October 30. Full chapters are expected to
be submitted by January 15, 2015. All submitted proposals will be reviewed on a
double-blind review basis.
