1) the election for vice president of the International
Nabokov Society,
2) a subscription form for future issues of NABOKOV
STUDIES, and
3) information for obtaining the two earlier issues of
the journal.

ELECTION FOR VICE PRESIDENT
OF THE INTERNATIONAL NABOKOV SOCIETY
This is an important election, since the vice president
serves for two years, normally advances to the presidency
for two more years, and then joins the five-member Board of
Directors for ten years. Elections alternate between
candidates based in English and Russian programs; this
election falls in an "English" year.
Voters must be members of the International Nabokov
Society, and in addition to this announcement will soon
receive a ballot in the mail. This message via NABOKV-L is
meant to facilitate voting for those members on e-mail. If
you wish, you may select one of the two candidates whose
qualifications are described below, then send your choice to
the current INS president at the following e-mail address:
jfoster@gmu.edu
Votes must be received by December 19, 1995; results of the
election will be announced at our annual meeting at the MLA
Convention in Chicago.
We would also like to take this opportunity to get
suggestions for future paper sessions organized by the
Society. Please include your suggestions with your vote.

CANDIDATES FOR VICE PRESIDENT
ZORAN KUZMANOVICH is Associate Professor of English at
Davidson College, a well-known liberal arts college in North
Carolina. Over the past decade Zoran has given several
papers and organized two MLA special sessions for the
Nabokov Society. He has also published articles on Nabokov,
literary computing, and art cinema, and is the author of the
Ph.D. dissertation, "'The Fine Fabric of Deceit': Nabokov
and his Critics" (1988). Zoran has been active in arranging
for NABOKOV STUDIES to be sponsored by Davidson College for
a three-year term, and is incoming editor of the journal.
ELLEN PIFER is Professor of English and Comparative
Literature at the University of Delaware. A long-standing
member of the Nabokov Society, she has been a frequent
participant in Nabokov sessions at both the MLA and the
American Literature Association, and has also lectured on
his work in Russia, Spain, Portugal, Finland, and France.
Her publications on Nabokov include NABOKOV AND THE NOVEL
(Harvard, 1980), a dozen essays and articles, and numerous
reviews. She has also published widely on other twentieth-
century writers, and is currently a member of the
International Editorial Board of NABOKOV STUIDES.
