Dustin-
While Boyd's biography is certainly invaluable, I would suggest
that one is better off trusting their own opinion as formed from having
actually read the work, rather than someone else's opinion of it. This
is especially true when musing on ideas aloud or in a public forum such
as this one. That way, nobody mistakenly attributes an idea to you which
you might prefer not to espouse personally. Your own ideas about the
work are much easier to explain than someone else's usually are, and the
process is more beneficial to you in the long run. Besides, someone
else's opinion may color your perception of the work when you do get a
chance to read it, and you may not be able to form your own opinions
about it as clearly as you would have otherwise. Try to read the book
with an open mind and see if you personally think Ada belongs in that
list.
