RESPONSE:
As part of its multi-part "History of the Sexual Revolution" series, in
its February 1998 issue Playboy magazine published a lengthy article
concerning American sex in the 1950s. The article is by James R.
Petersen, and is an excellent overview of the topic. Also, several
chapters in David Halberstam's marvelous "The Fifties" examine the
matter.
