Someone had forwarded the same piece on postmodernism to me, but I also
got a hard copy of it (which, coincidentally, I distributed to my
senior seminar on Postmodernism today). The piece is officially titled
"Geraldo, Eat Your Avant-Pop Heart Out" and it's by Mark Leyner. It
is from the NY Times Op-Ed section, from Sunday the 20-somethingth (date
didn't quite make it on to the xerox a friend sent me) of December (1998,
I mean 1997, I think). The picture at the top of the piece shows a
man with a distroted face mask being pulled apart by both his hands,
subtitled "'Alex': Identity Destroyed by Postmodernism." Leyner's piece
has "Hoboken, N.J." under his name (which may or may not be joke).
It's quite an amusing piece. Marilyn Edelstein, English, Santa Clara
