I couldn't vouch for the first snippet, but the second is from LOLITA,
near the end of Humbert's catalog of the nympholept in history:
"Humbert was perfectly capable of intercourse with Eve, but it was
Lilith he longed for." (THE ANNOTATED LOLITA 20)
