In a televised tennis match between American Chanda Rubin and a 16 year
old Russian, Anna Kournikova, Bud Collins (a tennis commentator) remarked
that Vladimir Nabokov, author of Lolita, was "very pleased" that
Kournikova had been pegged "the Lolita of tennis". Bud must have been very
confused.

Bud is often confused but that is pretty much his "angle," skirt and all.
What is ironic in this "pegging," which is not his, is how wrong it is,
given that Lolita is 12 and quintessentially American, not Russian.
