EDITOR's NOTE. Robbe-Grillet was one of the few contemporary French
writers that VN admired (and had lunch with). Robbe-Grillet's actress-wife
dressed as Lolita. Matthew Morris' suggestion might be worth pursuing.

I am curious about a few passages in Transparent Things that seem to
specifically allude to a horribly under-read novel by Alain Robbe-Grillet
called Project for a Revolution in New York (1970). It is most
enlightening to read with TT next to it. Has anyone looked into this?
