**This is the same information as in the message I just posted but it does
raise a new question -- "are there any [German speaking members of the
group] out there?" so I wanted to post it anyway. I can testify that there
are, and judging by our subscription list, quite a few. In Germany
alone, we have subscribers from many cities and/or universities
in the country, including Berlin, Uni Bonn, Marburg, Ruhr Uni Bochum, Uni
Muenchen. And these are just the ones I can tell by their e-mail
addresses. So add also all those who are using aol, compuserve (like
Dieter Zimmer), and other nets and coms -- and you have a rather
substantial group indeed.
I suspect Don actually has an exact number since he keeps good track of
our international subscriptions, so we may have to wait until he comes
back for more precise figures on that.

For the German speaking members of the group (are there any out there?):
Today's (April 24) literary supplement of the Neue Zrcher Zeitung is
devoted entirely to VN, with articles by a.o. D.B.Johnson, Martin Amis,
Andrey Bitov, Vladimir Sorokin
