Celebrations in China. As I announced about a month ago there would be
introductory talk about VN (Vladimir Nabokov and his 100 years
) to Chinese students and teachers on April 23. So, last night
the event took place and went very well. There were many questions and I
felt that the speech arose real interest for Nabokov among the students.
The speech was given in Russian and English and all the participants were
given a brochure with the speech in three languages - Russian, English,
Chinese. Also I included in the brochure the portraits of VN made by a
Russian - American artist Irina Zavyalova and some photos from Brian
Boyd's biography of Nabokov.
