A question:
Assume for a moment that:
a) Waugh isn't joking and
b) He's right that 'Lolita' contributed to a wider awareness of paedophilia
in society.
Does this provide him with a decent reason to prefer it to the "more finely
written" 'Pale Fire' in the book of the century poll?
