I now have the exact results of the voting for "Writer of the Century"
They were published yesterday (Mar 18) in "Ex Libris NG' the daily
supplement to the "Independent Gazette."
The Moscow radio Station "Echo" conducted the polling by telephone and
internet. Readers of "Ex Libris" filled in a printed form and mailed it
to the paper. A list of 10 authors was proposed and 6597 people voted.
1-2. Mikhail Bulgakov, Boris Pastårnak (27.24%)
3. Anna Akhmatova (25.86%)
4. Aleåksandr Solzehånitzyn (25.59%)
5. Ivan Bunin (25.04%)
6. Vladimir Nabokov (24.97%)
7. Iosif Brodskij (23.89%)
8. Aleåksandr Blok (17.78%)
9. Mikhail Sholokhov (16.05%)
10. Maksim Gorkij (14.51%)

4543 people (mostly young) voted through the internet.
1. Mikhail Bulgakov (69%)
2. Vladimir Nabokov (28.11%)
3. Boris Pastårnak (27.40%)
4. Iosif Brodskij (26.88%)

6. Ivan Bunin (24.06%)
7. Anna Akhmatova (21.92%)
