There is a passage in Ignatieff's book in which he describes Berlin's
treading, very foreign and vulnerable, the wet night snow of black
Leningrad panels during his first venture there, and the entire passage
(lifted from Berlin's recollections) seems a strikingly close imitation of
the ending of The Visit to the Museum.
