In a curious book entitled "Skifskii roman" (Scythian Yarn - Moscow,
Rosspain, 1997) - a tremendous compendium of material on Professor Michael
Rostovtseff, a Russian classical philologist who became a renowned
historian at Yale - there is a chapter on Rostovtseff and VN (pp.290-300),
by G. Bongard-Levin, consisting almost entirely of letters (mostly
unpublished) between these two, as well as VN's correspondence with
Karpovich and Vernadski.
