Stephen King's new online novel-in-progress, The Plant, contains an amusing VN reference. In the story, told in epistolary form, an associate editor at a second-rate publishing house writes a memo to his editor-in-chief about the recent unsolicited manuscripts he's rejected. One of them, "called L'il Lolita, is about a man in love with a first grader. I think. It's written in pencil and it's hard to tell for sure."
