I'd always thought that Kalikakov was a Russianised portmanteau of two
Greek words, 'kalos' (good) and 'kakos' (bad). The ambiguity of spying
and all that jazz... Therefore Tornikovski had overtones of 'turncoat'.
Maybe just me.
