might mention that the quantity of Russian language criticism
of VN is rapidly approaching that of English-language scholarship. As
Brian Boyd has pointed out, learning Russian is extremely important for.
serious Nabokov study and, I would add, not only for VN's Russian
novels and the Russian subtext of the English ones but for access to the
growing body of Russian Nabokov scholarship. Very little of it is
translated translated into Other languages.
