Subject: The Russian Revolution - clarification
A passing thought for Nabokovians-----today is the 86th anniversary of the Russian Revolution. Had it not happened, there would be no "American" Nabokov.
Didn't the Russian *Revolution* begin in 1905, with another active phase commencing in February, 1917? Today is the anniversary not of a revolution but of a coup d'état.
---------------------
EDNOTE. Yours is perhaps the more sophisticated view but November 7th was long celebrated as the anniverary date of the Bolshevik "revolution."
