TWO ITEMS FROM CAROLYN KUNIN.<chaiselongue@earthlink.net>
1. The (London) Times Literary Supplement confirms that the Gilmore letters
are charming hoaxes. There was some mild suspicion about the first Gilmore
letter but the second (about his outraged aunt) made it clear. TLS decided
to go along with the joke. NB that one of Hugh Person's few publications is
a letter to the LTS.
2. Caroline Kunin's English translation of the von Lichberg tale "Lolita"
(suggested by Michael Maar in a recent article in the TLS) will be
published in the TLS in the TLS. Congratulations to Carolyn and remember
you read the translation here on NABOKV-L some weeks ago.
