I am not believer of comparing of two writers whom I like (when I like only one of the two that's another story) but short poem 'Dedication' written by Brodsky in 1987 strikes me as very Nabokovian. To me it serves as a poetic key to both Nabokov and Brodsky. In spite the fact that they are so opposite in style (as their indirect contact proves).
I would like to see the review of 'Nabokov's and Brodsky's Autobiographical Writings' with possibly following up with the original. I must say that 'English as Sanctuary' strikes me as too limiting in comparing these writers. Will review be available to this list?

I can't remember if Galya Diment has already alerted the List to this, but I've just received a review copy of the book in which it appears in my capacity as ass. ed. of the Slavonic Review:
"English as Sanctuary: Nabokov's and Brodsky's Autobiographical Writings", in Beth Holmgren (ed.), The Russian Memoir: History and Literature, Northwestern University Press, 2003, pp. 167-87.
