I am unsure that this is appropriate, but I thought that some of you might
know Michael Begnal, Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Penn
State University. He has written a bit on Vladimir Nabokov but is best
known as a Joycean. Today, after being seriously ill for many months, he
passed away.

> Mike was my dissertation director and the person who encouraged me to
attend PSU. I'm flying to PA from NC this weekend for the memorial service.

> If anyone would like more information, please send me a note. I apologize
for bothering the list with this, but I thought that a few people might wish
to hear about this.
