Dear Don and List...
Mary's reference to Captain Hook (El Capitan Gancho) reminds me of poor
Lucette and her earnest request to be 'ganched' by Van -- with his
plunging hook, no doubt. I've forgotten what colour Van's eyes are, or
whether they exhibited red spots at such moments, possibly the twin
reflections of a barn in flames.
A very merry season to all those Nabokophiles who cooked an enormous meal
today -- I did a paella with more crustacea than I can remember.
