EDNOTE. In the course of preparing my remarks on SPEAK MEMORY for NABOKOV 101 at the Nabokov Museum in St. Petersburg this summer I ran across
an older publication of mine stashed on ZEMBLA---"Nabokov's Golliwoggs: Lodi Reads English 1899-1909"---an account of VN's childhood reading in English. It is entertaining for the accompanying illustrations, if nothing else. It is available at the link below.
