Dear Nabokovians,
At the very end of the book (the last page):
+Reverse motion is used in films only for comic effects - the resurrection of a
smashed bottle of beer -
Or rum,' I put in, and here the bell tinkled.
The question is: WHY RUM?
Can it be an English-Russian word play: RUM -- ROM (rus) -- ROMAN (rus. for
novel)? Or this is farfetched?
