Dear List,
This is my first submission to the list, with two
questions.
1. Did Nabokov make references to Japan, Japanese
persons, or Japanese literature? Japanese culture and
literature are a vast, fertile universe, and yet, did
someone like VN find nothing interesting of note, even
in stereotyped form, as in "Madame Butterfly"?
2. I don't have access to this paper.

Title: Through a Looking-Glass Darkly - Lolita:
Alice's Precocious Offspring
Author: Michael O'Connor
Where is "Lewis Carroll Carroll" in Lolita?
What are some other major references in Lolita?
I have a copy of Annotated Lolita (1st ed).
