Yeah, there is such a survey that would rounds up a good deal of the mortality, madness, and malignancy in VN's work. Nina Allen. Madness, Death and Disease in the Fiction of VN. Birmingham Slavonic Monoographs #23, 1994. It even offers a chart summarizing the category statistics.
The booklet is very weak.
