THOUGHTS: Final episode of "The Sopranos" (spoiler alert!) and
"Signs and Symbols"

How long will it take for people to realize that the final episode of "The
Sopranos" was inspired by--or at least strongly resembles--"Signs and
Symbols"? The show ends with Tony Soprano sitting in a diner, with his wife
and son in the same booth. Previous recent episodes have included two
murders that occur in front of the victim's family, including Phil
Leotardo's in this very same episode. Ominous figures loom all over the
diner. One of them heads into the restroom. Tony's daughter is stuck
outside, having trouble parking. And then the episode--the whole
series--ends. Is he going to be hit? We're left with the feeling that he
is--and that feeling ends the show.
"Tony had got to crab apple, when the man came out of the bathroom..."
