Between his writing and trips further afield, my father often visited the hillsides above Montreux, reachable by car or via the MOB. From the Rochers de Naye terminus, as well as from the Col de Jaman (easily reachable by car from Montreux during the summer months), a variety of pre-Alpine terrain is available. You will find the various tourist maps widely available in Montreux. Many of them recommend hikes in the area. If you wish to be more Nabokov-specific, you will find, in the Lausanne Museum of Zoology, a collection of 4323 butterlies that remained after VN's death and that
my mother and I donated to the Museum. A large number of the specimens come from the area in question. The former director of the Museum was a dear friend of mind, but I am sure the current staff will be helpful with any queries regarding documentation of VN's favorite hunting grounds,. You might mention it was I who sent you.
