I attach a lovely drawing by Maira Kalman, which ran on the NY Times website last year, part of a series titled "Sorry: The Rest Is Unknown." I sent in a post about it at the time, but without the picture, which I just found. Kalman is probably best known for the "New Yorkistan" cover she did for the New Yorker in 2001; she is also a children's-book illustrator. Her parents emigrated from Russia to Israel, where she was born.
