To the attention of Will Douglas,
There seems to have been some misunderstanding about a conference in
Nice due to my exchange with Zoran whom I am happy to meet here in a few
weeks. I wish I could gather again all the good people who attended the
1992, 1995 and 2006 Nabokov conferences in Nice (some wouldn't be
available, unfortunately; inveterate blunderer that I am, I faxed an
invitation to VN instead of DN in 92), but I don't have the energy to do
so. And my young colleagues have competently "repris le flambeau". Like
Julie Loison who is organizing a conference in Lille on "Nabokov and
translation" in May.
