Nabokov List:
I have been rereading Richard Ohmann’s “The Shaping of a Canon: U.S.
Fiction 1960-1975” (I can supply the full bibliographic reference if
anyone wants), where he discusses the marketing factors that create
best-sellers. He “exclude[s] novelists of foreign origin (Asimov,
Kosinski, Nabokov),” but he doesn’t say why.
