Dear List,
I'm pleased to announce the recent publication of my book, Nabokov,
Rushdie, and the Transnational Imagination: Novels of Exile and
Alternate Worlds. The book treats Nabokov as a paradigm of how writers
with deep roots in several cultures invent alternate worlds as a way
to reconcile their otherwise quite distant homelands. The primary
Nabokov texts discussed are Lolita, Pale Fire, Speak, Memory, and Ada.
Unfortunately it's pretty expensive -- cover price is $80 -- but I've
attached a flyer which offers a 20% discount, making the price $64.
The current Amazon price is $62.50. I hope some of you will consider
ordering it, or possibly asking your university library to do so.
Best wishes to all,
Rachel
